[If you're on dialup, just skip this one, okay?]
Okay, work has been on the vicious side recently, so by the time I sit down to blog, I really don't have two brain cells left to rub together. At this moment I have four or so, that's enough to post some pictures. Yesterday in review:
In the time it took to make pancakes, this happened:
So I tossed the puppies out in the cold most of the day. Emily was thrilled to play catch and eat the snowball.
Snowmen were made
It was dropdead gorgeous, but not without its dangers. See all those leaves?
They make the limbs really heavy. This is what you see.
Followed by:
Eventually some limbs fall on a powerline and you get:
I was worried about the roof.
Neither tree fell, but the second one played "chicken".
All in all
it was a great day. (Phone and electricity came back on around 3:30 in the afternoon, and I decided I can only put the purchase of winter coats off for another few weeks.)

That's funny :)
She was trying desperately to catch a badly aimed snowball. She LOVES to play catch, LOVES to retrieve and she thought eating snow was just fantastic. So the game where "you throw the snow and I catch it and eat it" was right up her alley.
It looks GORGEOUS there. Here in FL, everyone is bemoaning the "cold snap" which is giving us 70 degree highs. People are dragging out their winter coats because it's 50-some degrees in the morning. Sheesh!

Here in California...people are freaking because 70 is our high...for TWO WHOLE DAYS.....then it's back to 84 next week....stock up for winter ....yikes!
Patty, it's funny -- I'm in a total time warp right now because the weather right now -- low 50's during the day, down to low 40's at night -- and kind of damp but not really rainy is sooo much like Riverside county was last Christmas. My brain is SURE we are late with the Christmas lights. It doesn't help that the grocery store is already selling Christmas trees. When does Christmas come to Target now?
Wow...now that is an early, first snow!
You may have it :o)
Have you ever heard that when the trees loose limbs due to storms it is called 'nature's pruning'.
I like that term. Glad to see your house was missed!
'snow, snow, quiet and pretty...'

Oh, Alaska!! Snow is the One. Thing. missing from making where we are absolutely perfect for us. So I'll have to soak up your gorgeous shots from here, cringe for your home, gasp in awe at how close that branch got before it chickened out, awwww over the boys having SO MUCH FUN... and give thanks that we don't have dialup anymore and I didn't miss this.
Oh fun!! (Love the apples on the snowmen, btw - that was a stroke of genius on someone's part!)
